چکیده

Texture detection is one of the essential features requested for artificial tactile sensing to push demand flexible low-cost sensors in robotics sector. In this manuscript, we demonstrate ability a ferroelectret-based pressure sensor together with patterned elastomer layer detect surface textures. The ferroelectret was fabricated using fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) sheets bonded adhesive create cavities, integrated bumped surface, and finally charged pyroelectric method developed by our group. showed linear response applied force range 0.5 2 N, piezoelectric coefficient 150.1 ± 3.2 pC/N 10–80 Hz, flat dynamic 10–1000 Hz. characterization sensor, performed at different scanning speeds (10 30 mm/s) gratings periodicities (0 0.8 mm), that fundamental frequencies observed ranged from 12 Hz 75 as expected model. These results lay foundation adoption such applications need fine information, an autonomous or teleoperated robotic hand, prostheses, wearable devices.

Flexible and stretchable fabric-based tactile sensor

In this extended abstract we introduce a novel fabric-based, flexible, and stretchable tactile sensor, capable of seamlessly covering natural shapes. Our developed sensor can have an arbitrary perimeter, can cover freeform surfaces and remains operational on top of soft padding such as a gel cushion, which is a prerequisite for building human-like, soft artificial palm and finger sensors. We di...

Texture classification using a polymer-based MEMS tactile sensor

We classify surface textures using a polymer-based microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) tactile sensor array and a robust statistical approach. We demonstrate that a MEMS tactile sensor resembling a flexible sensor ‘skin’ built using a polyimide substrate can successfully classify textures. Texture classification is achieved by using a maximum likelihood decision rule that optimally classifies...

Development of polyimide flexible tactile sensor skin

We present the development of a polyimide-based two-dimensional tactile sensing array realized using a novel inverted fabrication technique. Thermal silicon oxide or Pyrex R © substrates are treated such that their surfaces are OH group terminated, allowing good adhesion between such substrates and a spun-on polyimide film during processing through what are suspected to be hydrogen bonds that c...

Flexible Tactile Sensor Using Polyurethane Thin Film

A novel capacitive tactile sensor using a polyurethane thin film is proposed in this paper. In previous studies, capacitive tactile sensors generally had an air gap between two electrodes in order to enhance the sensitivity. In this study, there is only polyurethane thin film and no air gap between the electrodes. The sensitivity of this sensor is higher than the previous capacitive tactile sen...

Flexible PZT Thin Film Tactile Sensor for Biomedical Monitoring

This paper presents the development of tactile sensors using the sol-gel process to deposit a PZT thin-film from 250 nm to 1 μm on a flexible stainless steel substrate. The PZT thin-film tactile sensor can be used to measure human pulses from several areas, including carotid, brachial, finger, ankle, radial artery, and the apical region. Flexible PZT tactile sensors can overcome the diverse top...
